Cornbury Music Festival attracting impressive acts

This years Cornbury Music Festival, to be held on July 8, 9 and 10, is once again host to a mixture of globally famous acts and homegrown new talent.

The festival, which takes place on Great Tew Park between Bloxham and Chipping Norton, boasts four music tents and a comedy tent.

On the Friday evening the main stage will be headlined by jazz piano virtuoso Jamie Cullum. Jamie Cullum is the UK’s biggest selling jazz artist of all time and his second studio album, Twentysomething, went platinum.

Saturday night sees rock and pop legend Bryan Ferry take to the stage. Ferry made his name as the lead singer of influential glam rock band Roxy Music in the 1970s.

The event is brought to a close on Sunday night by singer songwriter Seal, who rose to fame in the early 90s as vocalist on Adamski’s classic track, Killer, which eventually made it to the number one spot.

Since then Seal has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

Other noteworthy acts appearing on the main stage include acid jazz proponents Soul II Soul and former Dr Feelgood guitarist Wilko Johnson, who are both performing on Friday.

Saturday sees the reformed girl band All Saints take the stage as well as half of Booker T, of Green Onions fame.

Sunday you can experience the power and soul of Beverly Knight and acoustic guitar genius Newton Faulkner will also be performing.

The comedy tent will see 16 funny men and women take the stage, acts which include Carl Donnelly, Dane Baptiste and Nish Kumar.

The Kids Zone returns with free for all workshops and shows throughout the festival including balloon modelling, painting, a circus tent to learn circus skills and music clinics.

General camping and a quieter camping zones are available as are either weekend or day tickets.
