Jean-Christophe Novelli will be the guest of honour at the August 21 fair, which has become a town favourite with some 15,000 people visiting last year.

Novelli will be joined by Andrew Scott and Nick Bennett from TV’s Masterchef The Professionals, who will be sharing cooking techniques, recipes and some tricks of the trade.

The free event, which will be held in the Market Square and Town Hall, is organised by Banbury Town Council and will feature 110 stalls. It will also incorporate the Banbury Flower and Produce Show.

The town council will be providing a free park and ride between Cherwell District Council’s offices in Bodicote to the town’s bus station.

In addition to copious amounts of food the fair will be fully licensed selling a range of beers, wines and spirits.

Cllr Colin Clarke, chairman of the council’s general services committee, said: “The food fair goes from strength to strength. This is the fifth annual fair and every year it gets bigger and better.”

“For 2016 we have some fabulous celebrity chefs and well over 100 stalls for people to visit. There will also be ample seating where visitors can enjoy their purchases.”

The fair will start at 10am.
