THE brightest new entrepreneurs from the Banbury area descended on the town's Whately Hall in a bid to be crowned winner of the Innovation Award.
Seven entrants took turns to pitch their businesses ideas and products to a Dragons' Den-style panel of five judges.

First up was Salena Newport, with a device designed to kill of the poisonous Ragwort plant.
She was followed by 16-year-old Lewis Bankes-Hughes with his idea for an environmentally-conscious social networking website; Harley Zblewski with a 40mph electric car which folds into the size of a suitcase; Rudolf Bure with a vehicle tracking device; Josef Tapper with plans for a sugar-fuelled industrial steam boiler; Steve Cooley with a device to safely remove surgical needles from their syringes; and finally Kurram Ayub with a pressure applicator to aid anaesthetists.
Mr Cooley, a 43-year-old dentist from Adderbury, emerged victorious and will get free legal and financial advice, £500, a trophy and many benefits to help with the setting up and running of a new business.
