GLORIOUS sunshine heralded the return of the Banbury and District Show.
About 5,000 people descended on Spiceball Park on Sunday for what wat the the first time the event had taken place since 2005.
Banbury Town Council events and project manager Ann Sewell, who helped organise the day, said: "We have not stopped.
"The entrance gate has been chock-a-block! The weather has made it.
"We can't thank everyone enough for coming."
The event, which was spread over two fields, started at 11am and went on until 4pm.
Attractions included dancing from the Suruj Bhangra Group, historical re-enactments from the Sealed Knot and a performance from the Bodicote Royal British Legion Band.
Banbury town councillor Colin Clarke summarised the mood when he said: "There have been no problems whatsoever. Everyone has a smile on their face."
