HUNDREDS of fundraisers across the Banbury area are doing something funny for money today (Friday).
Comic Relief is in full swing, with fancy dress competitions, pyjama parties and baked bean baths taking place all over Banburyshire as part of the nationwide fundraising push.

Staff and children at The Close Nursery, in Prospect Close, Banbury, have adopted wacky attire with odd shoes and socks to celebrate the day.

Owner Sandra Page said: "Most people have come in looking a bit strange and the children have been really enthusiastic, they have really got into the spirit."

Morrison's supermarket is also in the dressing up spirit with members of staff donning costumes and holding collections around the store.

Personel clerk Vicky Hateley said: "We do have various things going on, and a few of our checkout opearators are holding collections around the store."

Byfield Primary School is celebrating a crazy hair day, and headteacher Andrew Ward was no exception to the rule. "All the children really went for it in a big way with some crazy hairstyles and the PTA committee told me that I wasn't getting away with it," he said.

Hundreds of other events are also taking place and the Banbury Guardian is keen to hear what you have done for the day. Send us pictures and details, including how much you rasied, to editorial@banburyguardian.co.uk. Please include contact details.
