Coologue continued the good run of form for Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon in the opening race on the second day of the Showcase meeting at Cheltenham.
The eight-year-old landed Saturday’s £50,000 Randox Handicap Chase over three miles and a furlong for the Hull Farm handler, who also enjoyed success the previous day at Prestbury Park with Midnight Shot.

The 8/1 shot with champion jockey Richard Johnson up, led turning into the straight and fought off the strong challenge of Keltus for the Paul Nicholls and Nick Scholfield combination after the last to win by a length.
Johnson said: “Coologue is usually a weak finisher but Charlie [Longsdon] said he had a wind operation over the summer and that seems to have definitely helped him.
“They went a good gallop and then we took it up halfway down the back straight. I could feel Keltus coming at me and you’re always worried when that happens up the Cheltenham hill because it is a long way to the winning post.
