The seven-year-old was handy throughout before being passed up the hill to finish tenth in the hands of Daryl Jacob.

The Wardington Gate Farm handler said: “She ran very well, she’s probably not quite in that top bracket but she justified her entry in the race.

“She battled all the way up the hill before the Irish horses went away from the rest of the field. She got a bit close two out but she picked herself back up and carried on galloping to the line.

“We’ll see how she comes out of the race and decide if she runs again this season. She may go to Punchestown or we’ll see if there’s another race for her, if not she’s still had a good season.”

Case confirmed that Croco Bay will line up in the concluding race on Friday. The ten-year-old will run in the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Chase.

He added: “I’m very pleased with Croco Bay, he’s in good form and, with cheek-pieces on, I think he’ll run a good race off a nice weight.”

But Graceful Legend will bypass Cheltenham and go to Newbury at the end of the month.
