Fantin signs for Arden ahead of World Series

ARDEN’S World Series team Arden Caterham will have Pietro Fantin joining them for the World Series by Renault 2013 Season.

Fantin, 20, from Brazil graduates from British Formula Three where he finished eighth in 2011 and sixth in the 2012 Championship.

Fantin moved from a successful racing season in Formula Three Sudamericana, where he won three races and achieved five podium finishes, to Europe in 2011 to undertake his first year in British Formula Three. Fantin has been a race winner in both of his British F3 campaigns.

Sporting Director Julian Rouse said: “Pietro had some very positive tests sessions with World Series by Renault in Barcelona and Motorland at the end of last year with Lotus and P1.

“Also he performed really well in the private ECU test he did with us in Barcelona. I was particularly impressed by how he worked with the Engineers and how keen he was to listen and learn how to continue to develop his driving.

Meanwhile, Antonio Felix da Costa will remain with the Banbury team for the 2013 World Series by Renault FR3.5 Championship.

He finished fourth in the 2012 Championship, coming into the series in the fourth round at the Nurburgring. He settled quickly into the car and secured four wins and six podiums.
