Heraud leads the way in penultimate Grand Prix

Emmanuel Heraud led Team Cherwell home in the penultimate Grand Prix race of the season, the Cotswold Triathlon,

It comprised of an open water sprint distance race comprised of a 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run.

Heraud finished strongly on the run to post a time of 1:12.38.

Kim Shaw continued her dominance of her age group with another impressive win in a time of 1:15.51, only seven seconds behind daughter Heidi Yates (1:15.44).

Ian Standford secured a top ten finish with a time of 1:13.20, as did John Shaw and Jacqui Smith in 1:19.00 and 1:25.28 respectively.

Amy Hinton also finished in 1:28.25 to conclude a strong performance from the Bnabury club.

Team Cherwell were also represented in the European Triathlon 70.3 Championships.

Ben Heaney finished a very demanding course, which comprised a 1.9km swim, 91km bike and 21km run, in 5:13.07.

There were strong performances from David Osbourne and Dawn Osbourne who finished in 6:16.19 and 6:14.54 respectively . There were also good times from Sue Hirst in a time of 6:39.51 and Mike Hirst in 6:51.36.
