Banbury travel to Epsom looking to make it three wins on the spin on Saturday.
A 7-1 victory at Buckingham II in Saturday’s South Club’s Women’s Hockey League fixture has taken Banbury up to third in division two.
Banbury started the match, playing the ball around the pitch and the first goal came during a passage of open play with intelligent movement between the forward line and a good finish from Vicky Warlow.
Banbury kept working hard but some frantic passing led to unforced errors. They remained tight in defence with excellent communication and composure from Becca Edwards at centre back.
After a scrappy spell of attacking play Banbury doubled their lead from the short corner through Lyndsey White.
After the restart, Banbury were more composed, passing the ball into the space and attacking hard. That led to the three more goals in as many minutes from Tash Nunneley, Nicola Brown and Aveline Cruikshank.
Brown soon added a sixth goal before Buckingham managed to breakthrough and reduce the arrears.
Banbury continued to play their quick passing game with Emily Hogg impressing and had the final word when Charlie Matthews scored their seventh goal.
Banbury II lost 5-2 against Marlow II in division one of the Trysports Three Counties League.
Helen Robey and Hailey Mitchell were on target for Banbury.
Banbury IV beat Sonning IV 1–0 in division four with a solitary goal from Imee Roberts.
Banbury V lost 3-1 against Thame in division six with Charlotte White getting their only goal.
