Handtheprizeover wins for Case

EDGCOTE trainer Ben Case enjoyed a televised Saturday winner when Handtheprizeover upset the odds at Doncaster.

The seven-year-old won the Blue Square Bet Handicap Chase for the Wardington Gate Farm handler with Killian Moore riding the biggest winner of his career.

Meanwhile, at Newbury Peat The Feat justified favouritism to land the spoils for in-form Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon on Saturday.

The eight-year-old won the Betfred Madarin Handicap Chase partnered by Noel Fehily as the Hull Farm handler ended 2012 on the 40 winners mark.

Longsdon won the same race 12 months ago when Rey Nacarado obliged but this time the seven-year-old had to settle for third under champion jockey AP McCoy.

More racing in this week’s Banbury Guardian.
