Earcomesthedream ends poor run for Pritchard

PETER Pritchard ended a poor run at Towcester when Earcomesthedream landed the spoils on Saturday.

The nine-year-old was ridden by Jack Doyle for the Whatcote handler. Pritchard has been farming Towcester victories for more than 25 years but hadn’t been in the winner’s enclosure since Woodlands Genpower won twice in a matter of weeks back in November, 2009.

Pritchard has had a dismal couple of years with a below-par string, yet now knows his horses are in the rudest of health once more. He said: “Although 2m 6f is probably the optimum trip for Earcomesthedream he is versatile and the horses are well again.”

At the same meeting, Edgecote trainer Alex Hales saddled Royaume Bleu to take the spoils at Towcester on Saturday.

The seven-year-old landed the conditional jockeys’ handicap chase in the hands of Killian Moore for the Trafford Bridge handler.

Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon had a double on the all-weather at the weekend. Cross Of Honour and Pure Style landed the spoils at Kempton Park on Sunday, both partnered by Noel Fehily.

And the Hull Farm handler followed up when Pendra landed the novices’ hurdle at Pumpton on Monday. The four-year-old was also ridden by Fehily.
