Warriner schoolboy Rasulo scores England winner

WARRINER School pupil Giorgio Rasulo grabbed the stoppage-time winner as England U16s lifted the Victory Shield with a 1-0 defeat of Scotland at Burton Albion on Thursday.

In a game broadcast live on Sky Sports, the 15-year-old striker from Hanwell came off the bench to curl home a late, late winner and give England the prestigious schoolboy football title for a 12th consecutive year

Rasulo was spotted playing for Bloxham, where he was leading goalscorer for three seasons, before joining Milton Keynes Dons youth academy in 2009.

He made his first-team debut for MK Dons as a second-half substitute in a recent 6-1 FA Cup clash against Cambridge City before continuing his rise to prominence with Thursday’s England appearance.

The goal came four minutes into added time in front of 2,000 fans at the Pirelli Stadium, which included former England striker Michael Owen.

Callum Cooke burst into the box, where he attempted a one-two with Rasulo. A Scottish defender slid in to block, but the ball rolled invitingly to Rasulo who curled the loose ball into the far corner.
