Banbury United boss Mike Ford wants his other creative players to step out from the shadows.

Zac McEachran is key to United’s success but Ford says he has other players capable of stepping up to the plate.

He said: “Zac McEachran is a player that no other team in this division has and we’re very fortunate to have him here. We lost four straight games without him, that may have been a coincidence or because he wasn’t in the team.

“But what we have to realise is that we have other creative players in the squad and we have to learn to cope without Zac.”

Mark Bell and Darius Browne were given rare starts against Cirencester Town on Tuesday but Ford knows it’s difficult for them with the new system he is playing.

He added: “The players who came in did fine. It’s difficult for players like Darius Browne and Mark Bell at the moment, there are no vacancies down the flanks because we’re not playing with wide men but wing-backs.

“There is a position behind the striker, where Darius played on Tuesday, and I think we looked better with a striker and one just behind.”
