Banbury United boss Mike Ford has set his side the task of going on another unbeaten run.

Ford saw United’s eight match unbeaten Evo-Stik Southern League run ended by Frome Town in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium. And the Puritans boss will be looking to get back on track at St Ives Town in Tuesday’s premier division clash.

Ford said: “I’ve been in football long enough to realise that every now and then something comes along to ground you as a player and as a team. That’s our unbeaten run finished and it brought us back down to earth.

“We started the unbeaten league run at Kettering and now we’ve got to go and start another one at St Ives.

“We’ve had a lot of games and we’ve got a lot coming up, that’s why I changed things around. We weren’t at our best against Frome and we didn’t do enough to win the game but we didn’t deserve to lose it.

“To win games in this division you have to bang on it. Sometimes you get away with it if you’re not but we didn’t on Saturday.”
