A third straight premier division success stretched Ardley’s unbeaten run to eight games and three first half goals were enough to see off the visitors despite going behind early on.

Binfield took a 19th minute lead when a simple through pass caught the home defence square and Liam Ferdinand was on to it in a flash, he took the ball on and fired inside Lee Farrow’s post.

But the lead lasted just two minutes when a ball over the top of the Binfield defence sent Leam Howards clear and he was felled in the box. The referee consulted with his assistant before awarding a penalty and Jacob Walcott made no mistake from the ensuing spot-kick.

Ardley took the lead in the 33rd minute when Dan Meade was sent away down the left channel, he outpaced his marker and tucked the ball inside the far post.

In first half stoppage-time Ardley increased their lead when Luke Cray got down the right and played in Howards. He crossed into the box where two defenders made a hash of clearing the ball and, with the keeper stranded, Troy Bryan headed into the empty net.
