N’Guessan and Isaac seal United double
GOALS from Joseph N’Guessan, on his debut, and Kynan Isaac earned Banbury United their first victory in 11 attempts at Chippenham Town as they completed their first Evo-Stik League Southern double of the campaign.
Both goals came in the first half of Saturday’s premier division clash at Hardenhuish Park, one of only five games to go ahead.
Chris Lait beat his marker before setting up N’Guessan to fire United ahead on the half hour mark and Isaac took advantage of a mix-up in the Bluebirds’ defence to double the Puritans advantage on the stroke of halftime.
United comfortably saw out a low key second half, with new keeper Warren Carter enjoying a quiet debut, as Edwin Stein’s side picked up three valuable points ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Kettering Town at Spencer Stadium.
More on United in this week’s Banbury Guardian.
