Zac McEachran isn’t the only member of the staff at Banbury United to sign a contract.
Manager Mike Ford has signed one through to the end of next season as the club look for some stability.
I’ve got full faith in every single player that they can contribute to this teamPuritans boss Mike Ford
The Puritans boss said “This commitment gives me the opportunity to continue the great work from last season and further develop the excellent squad of players we have at the club.
“I think we are moving forwards on and off the pitch and I’m delighted to be a part of that.”
And Ford has been stressing to his players the need to be patient and take their opportunity when it comes.
He added: “We’re not coming into this division with the aim to sit in mid-table, if you do that you will finish just outside the relegation zone.
“The players have got to realise that every game is different. Some players were disappointed on Saturday but then they got the opportunity on Tuesday.
“One player in particular might think he hasn’t done himself justice but it’s one game and it doesn’t matter.
“I’ve got full faith in every single player that they can contribute to this team this season. If they have a bad game they have a bad game.
“They have to understand that I know their frustration because I’ve been in that same position, sat on the bench wanting to play in every game. But I never asked to leave a club, I just knuckled down and got on with it.
“That’s what these players need to do because that’s the real test of character. You’ve got to keep training hard every week, whether you are in the team or not.
“I want to make this team better, my young players are all good enough but sometimes you have to cast your net a bit further.
“Sometimes players fall by the wayside and that’s because the team is getting better. But most of these players will stay with me because they are good enough.”
