Brady says it’s all about the next four games for Saints

Brackley Town manager Jon Brady says his side must forget what has gone before and focus on the next four games if they are to get out of trouble.

Saints slipped to second from bottom in the Vanarama Conference North table following Saturday’s solitary goal defeat against Solihull Moors and Brady knows they must get something from Tuesday’s game at Worcester City to keep their hopes alive.

Brady said: “We fight on. The previous 38 games have gone as far as we’re concerned, now it’s all about the next four.

“The players are disappointed but we don’t have time to feel sorry for ourselves, we’ve got to be ready to go again on Tuesday.”

Frank Sinclair will miss Tuesday’s game after limping off with a hamstring strain on Saturday but another veteran, Billy Turley, will keep his place after being recalled by Brady who said: “Billy [Turley] was different class and that was the reason I brought him back, he was magnificent and he’ll be in goal at Worcester on Tuesday.”

Looking back on Saturday’s defeat, in which Tom Sharpe got a red card, Brady added: “That’s been the story of our season, we’re the lowest scorers in the division and we’ve not taken our chances again when we’ve been on top.

“I can’t fault the players for effort but games are decided on fine margins, we lost Omar Bogle in the box for their goal and that proved costly.

“I’m not sure about Tom Sharpe’s dismissal, if he got a touch on the ball or not, but both players went for it and ended up on the ground. The referee has to be 100 per cent certain to send him off.

“Even with ten players we threw everything at them but we didn’t test their keeper enough in the second half.”
