Brady praises players after victory

Brackley Town boss Jon Brady praised his side’s character after bouncing back with a win at home in the Blue Square Bet North to Harrogate following Tuesday’s defeat to Gloucester.

Saints took the initiative through debutant Izak Reid before Jefferson Louis doubled the home side’s advantage. Saints had to withstand heavy pressure but ultimately Michael Woods’s stoppage-time goal was merely a consolation for Harrogate.

Brady said: “I thought all over we were magnificent. Again towards the end we had a lot of injuries and we had to shuffle the pack about and that is probably why we conceded that last one because a lot of people were out of position.

“But it was a great result against a strong side who could potentially be in the play-offs at the end of the day.

“We’ve had to dig in because the result against Gloucester was totally unacceptable the other night. I think we showed a lot of character considering they beat us 6-1 earlier on in the season.

“That was our first defeat and to come back like we did and totally dominate them probably for 75 minutes, until we had the injuries, I think showed a real good test of character.”
