Stanley tops for Hooky

ANDREW Stanley top scored as Hook Norton beat Broughton & North Newington by 12 runs in Tuesday’s division two fixture in the Banbury Indoor League.

Hooky posted 103-4 with Stanley 36no and Tom Rothwell 35 leading the way. In reply, Stuart Walton 27 and Tom Hill 13 were the only batsmen to get to grips with Adam Webb who took 4-15 as Newington were bowled out in the tenth over.

Banbury A beat Charlbury A by 30 runs.

Paul Cutler 30no and Charlie Hill 28 helped Banbury to 110-4 despite Josh Hornsby taking 3-34. In reply, Hornsby 26 top scored before Charlbury were dismissed in the ninth over.

Shipston beat Radway by five wickets.

Sam Douthwaite 25no and Stephen Douthwaite 25no helped Radway to 109-3. In reply, Marcus Ireland 26no, Jack Murphy 25no and Dave Murphy 25no quickly knocked off the runs.

Azad beat Cropredy A by 43 runs.

Maz Iqbal 39no and Azhar Shah 27 helped Azad to 115-5. In reply, Tim Coggins 19 and Ralph Orchard 13 top scored but Cropredy were dismissed in the eighth over as Shah took 2-19.
