Cropredy pip rivals to win it

Cropredy are the division two champions in the Banbury Indoor Cricket League.

They pipped Shipston to the title on Tuesday on the final night of the campaign.

Cropredy beat Banbury A by 32 runs while Shipston saw off Broughton & North Newington by a single run. The two sides finished level on points but Cropredy took the title following their victory over Shipston.

Tim Coggins 33 and Jake Walters 20 top scored in Cropredy’s 99 as Charlie Hill took 3-25. Hill 26 and Paul Cutler 17 led the way in reply before Banbury were skittled out in the eighth over with Mark Twynham 2-17 and Walters 2-19 bowling well.

Marcus Ireland 50no and Jack Murphy 35 helped Shipston 134-5 against Broughton while Stuart Morgan took 2-24.

In reply, Tom Hill 41 and Jason Tillcock 34 kept Broughton in contention before they were dismissed with Brian Weston taking 3-39.

Radway were relegated along with Azad.
