It came at Finchampstead in Saturday’s division fixture where Tew lost by six wickets. And that came after they were skittled out for just 41 runs.

Jandre Coetzee did the damage as he ripped through the visitors’ line-up finishing with 7-16 with only Joe White 16 able to make double figures.

In reply, Tew soon had Finchampstead in trouble as both openers Matthew Carter and Andrew House were dismissed with only 11 runs on the board.

Matthew Woods took 3-10 from his six overs before Dan Lincoln hit an unbeaten 20 runs to see Finchampstead home in the 12th over.

Now captain Andy Harris will have to pick his side up for Saturday’s derby with Banbury at Ledwell Road.
