Wright on track for honours

BANBURY Harrier Tim Wright kept on track for honours on two fronts at the weekend.

In Saturday’s Chiltern League fixture at Slough Wright finished a respectable fourth place, keeping him well placed for a medal in March.

The following day at Culham in the Oxon League fixture, he again ran strongly to finish in sixth place, the main support came from Simon Pritchard in 42nd place.

Other runners from the Banbury-based clubs ran well in the field of more than 250 starters. They included a foursome from Hook Norton led by Tom Bradford in 24th, then Dave Tame in 32nd, Alistair Williams 62nd and Dave Warlow 67th. The best two from Cherwell Runners were Dan Pebody in 43rd place and Henry Sleight in 81st.

Michelle Bartlett came home in fifth place at Slough and the Banbury Harrier followed up with a solid 15th place at Culham. This will keep her in contention for medals in both series.

Ros Kelling for once finished behind her team-mate at Slough in ninth place. Rebecca Biegel was 28th at Slough and Lisa Ansell 43rd. Bigel then finished 43rd at Culham and Ansell was 75th on Sunday.
