Kelling leads for Harriers

BANBURY Harriers veteran ladies kept on target for honours in the Apex Chiltern Cross-Country League with a solid performance at Shuttleworth College Biggleswade on Saturday.

Ros Kelling led Harriers home in sixth place followed by Michelle Bartlett in eighth place. The two were given good support with Rebecca Biegel finishing 23rd and Kerrie Clarke 29th.

Similar performances in the three remaining fixtures should see the ladies gain honours in both the senior and veteran catergories.

The senior men’s team also put in a solid performance. Tim Wright led Harriers home in fifth place, followed by track specialist Tom Offord in 11th place.

Simon Pritchard also ran strongly in 16th place and in his first run over the country this season Lewis Dorman finished in 52nd place. The other two scorers for Harriers were Geoff Smith in 103rd place and Andy Bartlett in 114th place.

In the younger age group races, two athletes made the journey to Biggleswade. In the unde-17 boy’s race Tom Biegel finished fourth and in the under-13 girl’s race, Tia Williams finished sixth.
