Between Monday, July 25 and Friday, September 2, Cherwell District Council’s recreation and sport activators David Norridge and Edward Frape will tour across the region including stops in Banbury and Bicester, offering free activities for eight to 16 year olds.

The pair will be offer sports such as rounders, mini-hockey, ultimate Frisbee and cricket in daily one-hour sessions.

Cherwell’s deputy leader Councillor George Reynolds, said: “David and Edward have planned a programme of activities that is healthy and invigorating but also accessible and fun. Sports such as rounders are a great way to keep fit, but they are also a great way to make friends.

“The Activators sessions enjoy a strong following in the district but we are just as keen to welcome new attendees as we are returners.

“We are hoping to encourage repeat attendances throughout the summer holidays.

“That’s why David and Edward will be handing out loyalty cards which will allow children to claim rewards for staying active.”

The Activator session will be in Banbury on July 25 at Grimsbury’s Moorfield Park from 1pm.

They will be at Banbury Play Day in Peoples Park on July 27, Bicester Play Day in Garth Park on August 3 and the Brighter Futures Play Day in Princess Diana Park, Banbury, on August 23.
