HOOK Norton FC have been handed probably the toughest tie they could have had in the next round of the FA Vase, according to manager Karlton Stratford.
Following a 6-1 win over Flackwell Heath, Hooky are in the second round in their first time in the Vase - or indeed any national FA competition - in their 110-year history.

But Monday's draw has presented them with an extremely tough task if they are to progress further, as they will face VT FC of the Wessex League Premier Division at The Bourne on November 15.

Although VT are in the same level in the football pyramid as FTL Hellenic League Premier Division side Hook Norton, the Southampton-based outfit are third in the table and unbeaten so far this season.

"It's just about the toughest tie we could have got in the south section," said Stratford, although he added it would be a boost playing the tie at home.

Saturday's win at fellow Hellenic Premier side Flackwell Heath means Hooky have guarenteed themselves at least £1,900 in prize money from the FA Vase.

Ricky Johnson made it 15 goals for the season after grabbing a hat-trick, including two penalties.
