NORTH Leigh caused an upset as they beat holders Banbury United in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup final tonight (Tuesday).
The Hellenic League side won 2-1 at the Kassam Stadium, Oxford, to deny Banbury the title for the third consecutive year.

North Leigh, who are two divisions below the Puritans, were well organised and fully deserved their victory.

Former Banbury forward Mark Simms - who scored the Puritans' winner when they won the Oxfordshire Senior Cup four years ago - opened the scoring for North Leigh with a terrific 20-yard strike shortly after half-time.

Ex-Oxford United winger Chris Allen doubled their lead with a header while on his knees.

Tommy Kinch scored a stoppage time penalty for Banbury.
