THERE was to be no fairytale farewell to Silverstone for Brawn GP as championship leader Jenson Button failed to become the last home winner of the British Grand Prix at the Northants track.
But it was always going to be a tough task for Button who started and finished sixth in the final race at Silverstone, following a poor weekend.

It was the last British Grand Prix at Silverstone, unless it gets a reprieve should Donnington fail to be ready in time for next year's race, and Button will have been disappointed not to have signed off with a victory.

But he still has a commanding lead in the drivers' championship and team-mate Rubens Barrichello picked up valuable points for the Brackley-based team to maintain second place.

Button was soon back in ninth position after a poor start while Barrichello slipped from second to third after Mark Webber passed the Brazilian driver.

Webber went on to finish second and make it a one-two for the Red Bull team after Sebastian Vettel led from start to finish after starting on pole position.
