OXFORD ended Banbury's unbeaten start to the Home Counties Premier League campaign.
The division one leaders lost by two wickets in a late finish at White Post Road, where Banbury did well to still be in the contest following a terrible start.

An early collapse saw Banbury reduced to 1-4 as the Oxford bowlers picked up easy wickets. But Craig Haupt hit a century as he and skipper Ian Hawtin pulled it around, putting on 143 runs together as Banbury eventually finished on 207-9.

Haupt was finally out for 103 while Hawtin added 55 but Oxford always held the upper hand in reply as good batting down the order saw them gradually close in on Banbury's total.

Ian Crosby led the way with 56 runs while Stuart Laudat 41 backed up well, leaving Jack Brooks 26no to hit the winning runs in the penultimate over.
