Elderly woman robbed

AN ELDERLY lady had her handbag stolen in daylight after being grabbed from behind and pushed to the ground.
The 76-year-old was walking towards the Ruscote arcade shops, near the allotments, at 11.40am when she was targeted by the man aged between 17 and 20.

Her handbag contained a bank card, keys and £60 cash.

The offender, who ran off towards nearby garages in Evenlode, is described as white, with a thin face and about 5ft 5ins tall. He wore a grey hooded top and blue jeans and white trainers.
