X Factor winner Sam Bailey and her fellow finalist Luke Friend will star at this year’s Cornbury Music Festival.
Held from Friday, July 4 to Sunday, July 6, British bands The Feeling and Scouting for Girls will also take to the stage at the popular event on the Great Tew Estate.
Hugh Phillimore, festival director, said: “Once again I think we’ve managed to get a brilliant cross-section of great music – which is of course what we’re all about.
“With Cornbury’s unique family atmosphere, it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Kicking off the festival on Friday will be Dublin duo Hudson Taylor and Suzanne Vega, with pop diva Sophie Ellis Bextor and Jools Holland – with ex-Spice Girl Melanie C and Soft Cell’s Marc Almond as special guests – concluding the evening. Jon Allen and Reverend Payton’s Big Damn Band play on Saturday along with Nina Nesbitt and Scottish rock legends Simple Minds.
Sam Bailey and Luke Friend are among the acts wrapping up on stage on Sunday.
In addition to music, the festival will feature a children’s zone and the return of the Festival of Words, hosted by Qi and Unbound. An adult weekend pass costs £170, or £200 with camping. A day pass for Friday is £78, with Saturday or Sunday costing £89. Visit www.cornburyfestival.com or call 0844 338 000.
Update: Sam Bailey has just revealed she is ten weeks pregnant, however, it will not affect her Cornbury performance.
