A 23-year-old man from Banbury has been arrested on suspicion of ABH by furious driving after a woman was hit by a car on Monday.

The incident happened in Penrose Drive at 9.30am when a 21-year-old woman became involved in an altercation with a man who was driving a silver Skoda.

It is alleged the car mounted the kerb and hit the woman on the leg. She was taken to the Horton General Hospital where she suffered bruising and ligament damage to her right leg. She has since been discharged.

PC Tania Wasilewski-Norman, investigating, is particularly keen to speak to a female dog-walker and a man who was loading his white van, who are thought to have been nearby at the time of the incident.

The 23-year-old man has been released on bail until April 22.

Anyone with information should contact PC Wasilewski-Norman on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
