Tomorrow is the official ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ in aid of cancer charity Macmillan.
Various local businesses and organisations are joining forces and delivering a whole host of coffee morning events to raise much needed funds for the charity.
From simple, no frills coffee and cake mornings to full-on live entertainment and everything in between there will be an event near you.
All the events listed are happening on Friday, September 30, unless otherwise stated.
The village of Milcombe is making a day of it hosting three separate events throughout the day. Kicking things off at 7.45am will be a dog walk aided by a trailer ride from Milcombe to Wiggington village with your pet and then an enjoyable walk back to Milcombe.
Dog walkers will arrive back in the village in time for a number of participation events from 10am, such as massage and acupuncture along with stalls, demonstrations, a raffle and car boot sale.
Concluding the day will be live music a bar and barbecue from 6.45pm. All the Milcombe events take place at Farnell Fields, Paradise Lane.
Stores in Banbury’s Castle Quay Shopping Centre will be hosting Macmillan coffee mornings.
Both Marks and Spencers and Hallowoods Furniture will host events from 10am.
Elsewhere in Banbury J & M Humphries in Albert Street will host a coffee morning at 9.30am, Pizza Express on the High Street will host one at 10am and the Salvation Army on George Street will open their doors at 11am.
Away from the town centre You Need Blinds on Mewburn Road will be holding Mr G’s Coffee morning at 10am while Cooperative Funeralcare (Trinders) on the Middleton Road in Grimsbury will host their evetn from 11am.
Businesses on the town’s industrial estates are also pulling together to raise money for Macmillan.
Eden Vaxhaul on the Beaumont Road will open their doors at 10am while Golden Hawk Ltd in the Cherwell Business Village on the Southam Road will also have a 10am coffee morning.
Further afeild Barn Farm Plants, Barn Farm in Wardington will kick off their coffee morning at 9.30am while over in Deddington’s Windmill Community Centre the Baby and Toddler Group will have a 10am start.
Also in Deddington Home Farm on the Clifton Road will host a Home Instead Senior Care morning from 10am.
Radway Riding School in Radway will open their doors to the public from 10am.
The business at the Vantage Business Park just outside Bloxham are banding together in an attempt to beat the £732 they raised last year. M and N Heating, Banbury Litho, Tibbetts, Helix, Foremost, Barker and Evans, Prestige Motors, Intouch Marketing and Origin Wines are joint hosting the event featuring lots of cakes, sausage rolls and cold drinks along with games and competitions.
Chipping Warden village hall will be the venue for their coffee morning from 10.30am until noon while Hornton Methodist Church will follow suit with a coffee morning also from 10.30am until noon.
A couple of village coffee mornings will take place on Saturday October 1, but will still be raising awareness and funds for Macmillan.
Culworth’s usual village cafe from 10am until noon and Warmington’s coffee morning at the Batchelors Cottage on the Green, also from 10.30am until noon.
