A mobile phone, laptop and some foreign currency was stolen from two properties in Banbury after they were targeted by thieves.

Between 11.20pm on New Year’s Eve and 3.30am on New Year’s Day, offenders forced entry into the bedroom of a house in Reid Close. A silver Nokia phone and silver HP laptop was taken. In a separate incident, between 6pm and 8.30pm last Friday, the door of a property in North Bar was forced open and an amount of foreign currency was stolen.

PC Bryn Smith of Banbury Police Station said: “This area would have been very busy at the time of this offence. The offenders must have been seen.

“Reid Close is a busy cul-de-sac and there were a number of house parties going on at the time of the burglary.”

Anyone with information should call PC Smith on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
