A dance teacher from Cropredy had a lucky escape when her car rolled over and ended up in a ditch on the A361 near Williamscot last Wednesday.

Danielle Buick had finished work at her dance class at Overthorpe Hall and was driving home in her silver Suzuki Grand Vitara at 10.30pm.

She said: “I was driving along the road and as I approached a corner another car came around quite quickly and with its full beam on.

“I just panicked and braked quite hard. The car had new brakes fitted that day and I lost control, spun around and ended up in a ditch. I thought I was going to die.”

Miss Buick was told by police the car flipped about three times before coming to a rest off the road. Miraculously she escaped from the vehicle with only cuts to her hands.

She was helped out of her vehicle by a passer-by and expressed her thanks to those who stopped to help.

“My phone was still in the car but there was a lot of smoke so I had to wait until the police arrived. There were two lovely ladies who stopped and looked after me before my parents and boyfriend arrived. I had a guardian angel watching over me,” she said.

“I was doing 45mph in a 50mph limit, but even that was quick. You hear about all the accidents happening on this part of the road so maybe something should be down to reduce the speed and stop more accidents.”
