Orchestral music recordings for a film shown at Banbury’s Odeon Cinema last week were recorded by a town firm.
Video production company Lamplight Productions filmed orchestral music recordings for the feature film Mr Peabody and Sherman at London’s Air Studios.
The shoot was part of the promotional effort for the US -based film and included the filming of an interview with composer Danny Elfman and behind-the-scenes footage of film director Rob Minkoff (The Lion King).
The film’s American producers were at London’s famous Air Studios for five days in November recording the music score with an orchestra of 80 British musicians.
Lamplight was contracted by Los Angeles-based LEG Productions to provide a crew and director to cover one of the recording sessions to be used in the promotion of the movie.
The Horton View-based company previously worked at Air Studios during the orchestral recordings for the animated feature film Happy Feet.
Mark Howe of Lamplight Productions said: “There’s a sense of pride that my work was on show locally and a sense of pride the production company came all the way to the UK to make the film.”
Last Saturday Lamplight Productions also filmed The Banbury Boxing Club’s Live Boxing event at Spiceball Leisure Centre. This event will be released as a DVD available from Lamplight or from Banbury Boxing Club. For details on Lamplight or to buy the DVD visit www.lamplight-uk.com
