The new intake of pupils at Sibford School has seen a new headteacher take the reigns.

Toby Spence has taken over from Michael Goodwin, who retired in August after 12 years as head of the Quaker school.

“Sibford is a unique place to live and learn and I am greatly looking forward to my new role here as head,” said Mr Spence.

“I was attracted to Sibford by the strong, progressive, Quaker heritage and family feel of the school. Sibford demonstrates a commitment to holistic education, outstanding pastoral care and a clear sense of community and I very much look forward to being a part of this.”

Mr Spence began his teaching career in 1992. He has taught at Bootham School and Yarm School in Stockton-on-Tees. He is married to Jill and they have three children.
