Santa suits at the ready as solicitors gear up for run

The team will be joining hundreds of others from companies across Banburyshire, along with individual competitors, for the Santa Fun Run being held at Spiceball Park on December 4.

Now in its seventh year the four or one kilometre run is one of the biggest events on the charity’s calender raising upwards of £20,000 towards their annual running costs.

Victoria Bullard, who works at Spratt Endicott with her sister Mary, said: “The Santa Fun Run sounded like a really fun way of raising money for the firm’s charity of the year and, at the same time, getting some much-needed exercise and spending time with our colleagues.

“Katharine House helped a very close relative of ours in her time of need and we are so very grateful to them for the love and care they provided at this time.

“A run like this really raises awareness for what the charity does as eyes are caught straight away by the huge Santa suits.

“We are very happy to be taking part in something for such a great cause as this.”

Participants in the run will receive a free Santa costume, and a mince pie and drink on completion.

Chris Higgins, communications officer at Katharine House, said;“This Christmas Day it will cost us £10,000 to keep our hospice services running and support patients and their families facing life-limiting illnesses.

“The Santa Fun Run is a fantastic event, and people take part for a number of reasons; some, like Victoria and Mary, run in memory of a relative, others run for fun or for fitness.

“Every £1 raised at the Santa Fun Run will go towards helping people in our local community who are facing life-limiting illnesses.”

Entry is £15 for adults and £8 for children (under 6s are free). A family ticket (2 adults plus 2 children) is £40.

The hospice will also be selling its own Christmas cards featuring local scenes and holding a raffle with a top prize of an Xbox console.
