Police seek witnesses to fatal M40 crash

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a single vehicle road traffic collision, reported at 10.25am between junction 12 for Gaydon and 11 for Banbury of the M40 yesterday (May 4).

The vehicle, a black Jaguar S-type, left the southbound carriageway to the nearside, going up the embankment and overturning.

The driver, a 61-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other occupants, a 32-year-old man and a girl, aged seven, were taken to Banbury’s Horton General Hospital with minor injuries and have since been discharged.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or with information that may assist the investigation, should contact PS Keith Rayner or PC Graham Holt of the Thames Valley Police Roads Policing Team at Bicester on the non-emergency number 101.
