A 77-year old female pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Banbury.

The incident happened at about 12.30pm on August 19 and involved a blue Volkswagen Touran in George Street, at the junction of Britannia Road. She was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where she remains with serious but not life threatening injuries.

The driver of the car is helping police with their enquiries.
