TOP chef Jamie Oliver is presenting excellent food and music at this year’s Big Feastival with Alex James in Kingham on the weekend of September 1-2.
Mr James, bass player in the rock band Blur, will be holding the event at his Oxfordshire farm and organisers are promising two days filled with quality local food, amazing music performances, and general all-round family-friendly entertainment.
Mr Oliver said: “When you get great food, great music and the kids are kept busy, beautiful things definitely happen.”
The festival is celebrating the three things which are closest to the two men’s hearts – food, music and family – while also raising awareness and funds for the Jamie Oliver Foundation.
The foundation works to educate school children about healthy food and train disengaged youngsters for careers in the restaurant industry.
The festival will feature artists such as Paloma Faith, Razorlight and Texas as well as demos and cook-offs from celebrity chefs such as Valentine Warner.
There is also an opportunity for local bands to take to the stage during the festival through the Live and Unsigned competition.
In order to be considered for the amazing opportunity, all bands need to do is to upload one of their tracks online before Sunday, August 12 and then drive traffic to their entry via social media sites.
Alex James said: “I’m really excited to hear what these bands have to offer, we have such a strong music scene in the UK and there is a lot of talent out there.”
