Banbury mayor Gordon Ross has thanked everyone who attended his civic dinner on Friday and helped raise about £1,500.

Councillor Ross said: “It was a very successful evening and everyone enjoyed the occasion. The money will go to local charities at the end of my mayoral year. The after-dinner entertainment was a horse racing night and all those who had a flutter on the races were thrilled – especially the winners. The civic dinner is an annual event and my wife, Mary, and I were honoured to be the hosts this year.”
