Man threatened with hammer in attempted burglary

A man was threatened with a hammer in an attempted aggravated burglary in Twyford last Friday evening.

At 11.55pm a man in his sixties was at his property in Rawlins Close and went to the back garden where he noticed a man hiding in the bush at the front of the property.

The offender threatened him with a hammer. The victim shouted for help and when a neighbour called to ask if everything was alright, the offender made off on foot.

Another man was also seen running away from the scene.

The man wielding the hammer was wearing a plastic white mask which covered all of his face, a high visibility jacket and dark trousers with gloves.

He is 5ft 4ins tall with a skinny build.

The second man was wearing dark clothing.
