Man charged with handling stolen goods in Chippy

A 42-year-old man has been charged with handling stolen goods after police officers found a stolen quad bike when conducting a search on a suspicious Transit van in Chipping Norton.

Miroslaw Chojnacki of no fixed abode appeared at Banbury Magistrates’ Court last Friday also charged with acquire, use and possession of criminal property. He was released on unconditional bail and will reappear back at court on September 30.

The charge relates to a member of the public reporting a suspicious Transit van unloading an agricultural vehicle to a curtain sided trailer in Fifield Turn at about 4.20pm last Wednesday. Police are appealing to help identify the owner of the white Transit van, and anyone with information should call the Chipping Norton neighbourhood team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
