Wizard of Oz retold to Motown
TWO and four-legged stars will take to the stage to perform a Motown version of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Actors from Odyssey Theatrical Productions will star alongside an assistance dog from Dogs for the Disabled to perform The Wiz.
The charity will provide a dog, currently in training, to star as Toto in the show which takes place at Wykham Theatre at Banbury Academy on January 18 and 19.
Director Andy Aldcroft said: “It’s a fun family show bringing together the magic of the Wizard of Oz with the fantastic music of Motown. We have a really strong group of children, adults and young people who have been working hard to put on the show and we want people to come and support them so they can show off their hard work.”
Costumes have been provided by Wacky Wardrobes in Banbury.
The show will begin at 7.30pm both nights with a 2.30pm Saturday matinee. Tickets cost £8 or £6 for concessions and the matinee from 01295 267342.
