The winners of a popular competition which rewards the success of Banbury businesses and employees have been announced.

The Banbury Employee of the Year awards were set up three years ago by recruitment agency Plus One Personnel – and the winners of this year’s competition were presented with their prizes by Banbury MP Sir Tony Baldry last Friday.

Judy Collins, senior account executive at PR and marketing agency Propel Technology, was named Employee of the Year and said: “I’m overwhelmed to have won this award, and would like to thank everyone at Propel Technology for their support.

“I am passionate about the ability of PR to drive any business, especially in tough economic times, and working in new industry sectors at Propel Technology is a challenge I continue to enjoy.”

Butterflies Healthcare in Warkworth scooped the Banbury Team of the Year award, with Suzanne Castle, Tracy Chambers, Aimee Tuzzio and Julie Birkenhead being rewarded for their hard work.

Richard Sutton, director, said: “To win this award is great and we thought the girls did such a good job. It is really nice for them to get some recognition.”

Bibby Financial Services in Noral Way was awarded the Employer of the Year title. Karen Rawlinson, managing director of Bibby Factors Limited, said: “It is fantastic for all the team in Banbury. We had heard about the awards in the media last year and think it is a really good idea.”

Claire Kingsbury, director at Plus One Personnel, said: “The awards went really well and it was a real boost to be able to reward more people in wider categories this year. Everybody was so excited to win and the feedback we have had from companies has been really good. It is going to give them all so much confidence going forward, and we hope they will continue their hard work.”
