Top achievement for science technician
A science technician at a village secondary school has become one of only 49 in the country to be given membership to the Association of Science Education (ASE).
Sally Graham has been at the Warriner School in Bloxham for about three years and was awarded the honour last month.
She received a certificate and badge to mark the achievement and said: “It is great to be confirmed as a member and it opens a lot of opportunities for me in the future. I got bitten by the bug for gaining more qualifications when I received a BA in Education degree.
“I have got a lot of background support at the school and it is a lovely place to work. The ASE recognises the school is a forward-planning school and enables staff to progress further.”
The Association of Science Education is a dynamic community of teachers, technicians and other professionals supporting science. It is the largest subject association in the country and is a guide for its members to access various journals to offer support in the subject.
Dr Annabel Kay, headteacher added: “I am really proud of Sally, it is real achievement for her. She does a job that does not get much recognition but is important to help students’ potential.”
