Snow fleet to help clear roads

A FLEET of new snow blowers designed to clear footways during severe winter weather are being readied by Warwickshire County Council.

The four machines are able to carve through snow up to 20 inches deep and are capable of processing up to 50 tonnes of snow per hour.

Councillor Peter Butlin, portfolio holder for highways and transport, said: “In the event of severe weather, our highways team will continue to work extremely hard to keep the county’s roads clear.”
