Seated exercise sessions in Banbury

EXERCISE sessions for people suffering from joint problems has been set up by Cherwell District Council and Go Active.

Seated keep-fit is an enjoyable way to improve strength and flexibility with a friendly group of people, and Boccia sessions helps improve co-ordination and tones the arms.

Councillor George Reynolds, Cherwell District Council’s deputy leader, said: “These groups are a great opportunity to feel healthier in 2013. It can be difficult for those with limited mobility to find an exercise class that suits them. But anyone who tries these classes will find it easy to fit in, have a go and benefit from physical activity.”

The sessions start every Thursday in Banbury’s Horsefair Surgery from 12.45pm to 1.30pm for seated exercise, followed by the Boccia at 1.30pm to 2.15pm. Running sessions will start from Thursday, January 17 to February, 21.

Each session costs £3 and participants can join in as much or as little as they wish to, with carers joining in for free.
